1050? That's not even a real gaming resolution. You could probably play Crysis on medium-high with an HD4770 at that resolution. GTX285 is complete overkill for that; actually any >$200 card is.

You don't need the i7. Really you don't. Media stuff for school is never going to require it. Get a cheap Phenom tri-core or something.
