LOTS of this.
I agree funding has increased; I don't think it's improved the quality of the service at all. Look at GPs - with the new pay deal under Labour they get paid much more, but work many fewer hours (they don't have to work out-of-hours or weekends).
It may be an anecdote, but my surgery is open Mon-Fri afternoons only except closed all Wednesday, and no weekends or out-of-hours. Nearest out-of-hours care (and that includes Wednesdays) is about half an hour away and is always ovecrowded and understaffed. So many just flood A&E depts. for minor problems.

The only thing that Labour did right was Northern Ireland. And even that was more to luck and a change in NI's culture than deliberate policy.
