While it is impressive for a child of his age to be able to be successful at a post secondary institution, getting an Associates degree from a community college in "Liberal Studies" (even at 11 years old) doesn't make you genius material ... I could be wrong, but I expect that "Liberal Studies" is just another word for "General Studies" which is (essentially) a degree in easy options; and at most community colleges the easy options are at a difficulty level where a good grade 9 student who put in the work could get a fairly decent grade.
Although I have no evidence for this, I wouldn't be that surprised if this boy is at the extreme end of the scale for parents pushing their child in one direction (in this case education) at the expense of all other pursuits, and his lack of interest in videogames is a symptom of a very poorly balanced child. If you took a legitimately smart child (smart enough to skip a grade or two) and pushed them into it you could probably get them to achieve a similar goal at a similar age ... Unfortunately, there is far more to life than academic achievement and when this boy realizes that it could be far too late.
