Help , problem with Gears Of War 2 .

Well I was playing Gears Of War 2 at my friends house and we had alot of problems . The game kept on slowing down even when there were only two people in the game , we we're experiene lag and so on , I am really disappointed with the game.

Anyone know what the problem could be?.
