Sony has proven consistently that the PS3 is a graphical powerhouse Quite the opposite : lower framerates / slower loading times / worse anti aliasing / lower resolution / freezes , it's no suprise to me that the industr is begining to confirm this (maybe in imagination land), it has however been known for a long time that the PS3 graphicaly suprases it's rival (it was promised by Sony, and then we know what happened). Uncharted , GT5:P , Ratchet and Clank etc ( I could go on) have consistently proven the PS3's graphical superiority  .
Considering that the PS3 is already prooven to be ahead of the 360 ( Killzone 2 (considerable slowdowns and very limited models (no organic backgrounds for example) it'll be interesting to see the results of it pulling further ahead ( Heavy Rain , Uncharted 2 ?) |

1st Paragraph : My knowledge was Pre-E3 concerning alan wake , I don't have the time to know everything about the XBOX 360 libary I don't live on the intertnet . Most of my friends have no interest in the 360 , the ones that are have never talked about Alan Wake.
The performance issues you reffering to are a problem on multi-platform games were the developer has failed to understand the architecture of the PS3 or hasnt' dedicated enough/correct resources towards developing games for it. Many PS3 titles technicaly trump what the 360 is capable of (The 32 lag-free multiplayer in Killzone for example , or the obscene amount of animations running at the same time in uncharted).
LOL at the references to multiplatform games , you'll find that there are multi-plats which are superior on the PS3 (Burnout , GTA 4 for example) most PS3 exclusives are technicaly sound so good luck with counter -arguing that.
