Lack of support obviously.
It could be that these indie devs are MIT grads working on post grad stuff or similar kinds of people.
Sony probably had not seen any motion control as actually being successful. Assuming that what I said is true, it could mean that Sony is very close to releasing their motion, for a very cheap price (assuming they spent near nothing on the technology. Another benefit could be hiring those devs to work on more things)
Who knows. The PSEye is amazing though.
