I could care less because I have a hard drive but I don't understand why they can't put the engine on both discs, and have the tracks on the 2nd disc playable by changing discs as people were expecting. Lost Odyssey and other RPGs had to put up with holding the whole engine plus the extra areas, characters, voice acting, CGI movies and other data specific to that section of the game.
If they really can't do this, they I'm happy, because it must mean that there is 18GB of heavily compressed cars and tracks in the game for me with a hard drive to play with. But it sucks for the Arcade owners. I swear Microsoft were selling 20GB HD's for like $20 before, I don't see why that deal can't happen again, to help lessen the problem.
