^Sony just has that look of professionalism.
Sony products are in almost every movie.
They look sleek and futuristic. They have a very very lower failure rate, (even including all the battery recalls, which were covered), and generally exude quality.
They are just seen as one of those things that you buy when you have money.
You wanna buy someone a digital picture frame? Even though some may offer better quality (very rare) or price, buying someone a Sony says. I spent extra to get you something that I could have gotten for 10% less. Of course, I'm not comparing Sony to Kodak, but to a "regular" company, because the Kodak one will generally be the same price.
I'm sure someone is going to have a field day with what I just said.
