If Microsoft does not get this out by the holiday season, it will have lost the buzz. Especially with other similar and related products being released.

I think the issue it is facing right now is the same issue that Nintendo faced regarding 1:1 in the original Wii controller -- cost.

If it is more than $50, how many people will buy it? (the Wii Balance Board was $90 with a game). Right now, cost estimates run as high as 4x that much.

Additionally, there is the issue related to market presence. Right now, there are 0 units of this. How many units before it is worth a company's while to (a) make games for it or (b) add controls for it to new games or add patches for control for existing games? I am sure developers are playing with it (EA Boom Blox Natal anyone?). But until there is an install base, there will not be a rush of third party software, except for maybe some minigames and Wii ports.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
