They already do it everytime a new console is released.

I thought we were talking about peripherals and excluding standard controllers that come with every console. At least your previous post gave me this impression.

I see the situation as being pretty similar.  I mean look at the N-Gage, it got support from EA, Ubisoft, Sega, Activision, etc.  Does anyone really think that third-parties would be willing to make games for the N-Gage but be adverse to making them for this?  Especially now that it's in the media and they know that it's what Microsoft is going to rely on to capture some of the casual market.

Sure, but what kind of support was that? Ports of PS1 and Genesis games and mostly bad or mediocre versions of new games. Good and original games were very rare on the N-Gage. It's no surprise that it didn't sell well.

Do you expect the Natal to sell based on halfassed games and ports? The kind of support Natal is going to get is probably similar to what the Wii mostly got from third parties. Games that suck. It takes one hell of a lot to convince third parties of an unproven platform. The Wii caused the longest lines in E3 history when it was showcased for the first time and the reaction of third parties was "meh, who cares". I don't see any reason why third parties would embrace Natal. They prefer to do what has been proved to work in the past. The only way they change their mindset is if that just doesn't work anymore.

But... Third parties hate the Wii. Surely they would do everything in their power to make someone other than Nintendo successful? I mean thats what they've been doing so far...
