Checked out some of the latest catalogs I got delivered this morning.

The Target catalog had a bunch of "gaming specials" on the back page.

The most interesting was this:

360 Core System (no other extras or details) - for $349AU.

That is incredibly cheap IMO. The Wii still retails for $399 base (or $420 with a game).

For comparison, the 40Gig PS3 (no BC) will retail for $699 - with no games, and maybe a BluRay disc.

...

Other deals listed were a PS2 + Singstar (+ mike) for $249

PSP + 2 games for $299

(EDIT - now seriously tempted to grab it. People can whinge about no hard disk or other features - but its all I need to play Mass Effect and other games. Probably won't though, trying to save money for other things... maybe next year!).

The Target "Core" deal that I thought was pretty darn good was this one:

Xbox 360 Core, Kameo, PGR3, Viva Pinata, Fuzion Frensy 2 and a memory card for $449.

This was the same price as the following Wii deal:

Wii, GT Pro Series, Moster 4x4 and Wii Sports.

Very good value for the non-hardcore gamer who wants a 360. Particularly when the extra bundled games for the Wii are rubbish ones.
