Its also funny that they said that they are pushing the hardware to the limits on the PS3 and yet the net result they expect is PS3 = Xbox 360. Crytek are some pretty awesome developers who exist on the cutting edge of technology. If this statement is true, as in a big if relating to whether or not its PR influenced I would say that its another nail in the coffin of the performance shouting contests.

Or you're blowing it out of proportion

How many devs claim they're pushing limits? Yet games KEEP looking better and better. People need to stop reading into these things so much. The PS3 has it's strengths and weaknesses, as does the 360. No the systems ARE NOT exactly the same, and even though Crytek are presumably tech masters, it doesn't mean we'll see the best game out of either platform from them.

As I stated before, until The Last Guardian, HEAVY RAIN, Uncharted 2 and Alan Wake (360) are shown up, I'll continue to believe that my console(s) "limits" can be pushed further.

They released a game in 2007 which is still unmatched today. They are not one of many developers, they are one of the few developers who can honestly claim to live on the bleeding edge of technology. They are known technology masters so their reputation precedes them. If they say something after working on both platforms intensively then their statements add a lot of weight to any debate. They didn't say that PS3 = 360 exactly, they acknowledged each platforms particular strengths and weaknesses.

Theres no doubt that both consoles will continue to be pushed, but I don't see any reason to bring that up because it wasn't mentioned by them in this statement.

Doesn't make any difference if no one was able to play it. If they need ridiculous hardware to push the limits they talk about, they'd best stick to PC. Seriously, how great was crysis outside the graphics realm? Not looking forward to it's sequel
