Phalanx is a totally awesome name! Do you say it falanx or feilanx? It's my vehement belief that all parents should give their children one first name that's totally normal, and one that's exotic, so they can whichever they want. Kinda like Bob Beowulf Johnson, or Willian Master Chief Harris. In an optimal case one is biblical and the other paganic in origin, since you can never know if a kid is going to turn into a fervent Christian, or militant Atheist.
My first name is Otto. Pronounced exactly as it's written like with German, not Ot'ou, like all you native English speakers are in the habit of doing. =P
