Haha, I haven't seen it, glad I didn't watch it now... Surely it couldn't have been THAT bad? Assassins Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction both look amazing!?

My original post was to make fun of the whining that it was the "worst press conference ever!", and people yammering how so and so won E3.  Press conferences are usually as dull as dirt, and cater to business types, particularly at a trade show like E3.  It did have some dull moments, particularly with the French guys with their OUTRAGEOUS French accents (tip of the hat to Holy Grail there with that reference).

Expect to get LOTS of sales numbers, information on why teen and fitness programs matter, and a mix of demos of their games.  Also expect multiple BAD jokes by the host of the program.  In other words, your usual business meeting.

You have videogame fan sites milking the press conferences, not designed for videogame fans, by showing them and getting traffic.  These press conferences often announces games that are over a year away.  I would expect, for example, that the spy game Rockstar is working on, won't be ready before 2011 or 2012.
