When the companies who make their console of choice start doing something like da waggle, then they get interested, and it becomes important.
As far as I am concerned Wii Motion Plus > anything else now. It will be out shortly, and is set to do what it promises, and it has a price point, plus looks to have game support, and the price isn't bad. As far as Sony and Microsoft, neither one has a product set to be in the market this year, and no know price point. Real product that works > vapor.
