I have 2 friends that have gotten the red ring of death. One of them NEVER turns the system off. No matter what time I go online, he is online- even when he's at work. The other bought his 360 used. He'd take the system everywhere. He'd gotten his system months before me, and when he brought it to my house so I could play, he set the system up on my shag carpet. The RRoD wasn't even a big deal then, but I knew that system was doomed. Treat your $400 purchase like it costs FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS and you probably won't have any problems if you go with the 360.
