It will just like when EQ2 was releasing. If the game is actually good or at least a better experience, then players will jump ship and move onto FFXIV. If it's a pile of garbage like EQ2 is, then FFXIV will die off and FFXI will continue to have that cult following.
I miss FFXI. ;_;
