Natal has a lot of potential, but also a lot to prove. There's almost no point in debating its merits and flaws until we've really seen it in action with actual games.
Also, I guarantee that you are going to want a wand device like the wiimote or whatever Sony's calling their contraption to go with your Natal. Without buttons and thumbsticks, there are a lot of limits on possible gameplay. So expect to buy four of those for your family as well.
