@ Ausfalcon

All you have left in the arsenal on this one is insults. LOL

I did not state you were stupid, maybe it made you feel stupid. But I personally think your screwed up summary was intentional (thus rather malicious than stupid on your part).

This thread, again, is about the UMD format and whether *it*, the media format, suceeded or failed. PSP is a related topic insofar as it ended up being the only device that ran the format. But if anything, that just further highlights UMD as a failure as a media format.

I think gains should be weighed against costs to determine the format has been a failure for Sony to introduce or not. For example with regard to HD DVD there have been virtually no gains for the long term regarding Toshiba's aims, there have been mainly costs now the format is dead.

backup besides "IMO"

Sony already noted no special infrastructure or technology was needed to make UMD discs, it's basically just a proprietary mini-DVD format.

The potential big cost could have been mass marketing the UMD format, but AFAIK that never really happened.

So give us some quotes (with links) that back up your inference that the media format meet expectations.

Internal data isn't released in such a fashion. One thing you should learn about public commercial PR, you often see micro companies they are a "industry leading", their products are often claimed to be "revolutionary", their products are often claimed to be "unique".

Understanding the basics of modern marketing, will allow you to get a much clearer picture with regard to what a company does and what a company claims.

However this is pretty standard, as the moment a company would state they provide a product that's "nothing special" and they are "less competent" than rivals, nomatter if it's true or not, it will directly reflect on company performance.

I alo find it amusing that you are continuing to argue with someone that you claim has a mental issue requiring them to see a doctor. What exactly is that saying about you?

Being a health care professional?

Seriously, your behaviour here isn't considered to be healthy for an adult your age. However you seek confrontation and thus I defend myself.
