It's funny how you make lists and come to such stupid conclusions.

All you have left in the arsenal on this one is insults.  LOL.

As I said earlier, IMO UMD was value add for the PSP doubling as a multi-media device. It allowed the console to perform well amongst target audiences. This IMO is the key to determining if this was successful for Sony or not regarding their long term plans for the PSP.

This thread, again, is about the UMD format and whether *it*, the media format, suceeded or failed.  PSP is a related topic insofar as it ended up being the only device that ran the format.  But if anything, that just further highlights UMD as a failure as a media format given that Sony claimed they wanted a more widespread adoption.

The UMD movie support has IMO certainly been profitable to Sony (they get the royalties and they do the production runs), it did not take much for them to support movies in addition to games. It probably helped lowering production costs as well.

Certainly possible.  Please provide backup for independent reliable sources, otherwise it stays uncertain.  And as we already discussed, a success at one thing, if we assume for a second that is the case here does not necessarily mean as a format overall that it was a success.  So if you want to debate that point, give us some backup besides "IMO".

You must have been very bad at school writing summaries of people's books or research documents. I still do that a lot, maybe that's why I am so much better getting the key points from writings.

LOL, still all you are left with are attempts at insults.  How utterly sad.

I read they wanted to set a standard for more compact discs. In other comments it was made crystal clear Sony weren't intending to rival DVD, just provide a low risk portable alternative.

So give us some quotes (with links) that back up your inference that the media format meet expectations.  I've provided links to the contrary.  It is a forum Mike.  Give us a little more than your "IMO" and self quotes from the past.

Or just keep hurling insults.  Like I said its amusing to see someone claim to be highbrow and obviously not be (given the fact that you've reduced yourself to petty insults).

I also find it amusing that you are continuing to argue with someone that you claim has a mental issue requiring them to see a doctor.  What exactly is that saying about you?
