It's pretty well rumoured that a damage model is coming to GT5. In fact it may even be added as an update to Prologue (I am probably wrong there). That is a huge thing for the GT franchise and probably explains why it is likely to be a 2010 game. |
The fact you are pimping an update for a demo while Turn 10 delivered Forza 2 two years ago and is about to deliver Forza 3 speaks volumes, albeit you probably don't realize it.
By the way have you even played any Forza? It has manufactured cars as well - all the "limitations" you talk about are limitations decided by Polyphony Digital, not the tech, styles or mechanics of those cars in real life. Heck, even the lower budgeted Enthusia for the ps2 was beating GT4 at the simulation game. Kaz and his team aren't interested on making a proper simulator, because that's not popular. What they do is a game that has cars behaving the way most people expect them to behave. Note such fact is not inherently "evil" - Burnout 3 is still my favorite racing game ever. The problem comes when convincing people that what they are doing is the closest approach to the real thing becomes an essential part of the gaming experience.
By the way, the blueprinted souped up versions are just an additional gameplay element you might engage or not, at your will. It's there just to allow gameplay options and make the game more fun.
