that would be my guess also.
Bioware was bought up by a compony that new beforhand there was an unfulfilled contract on a RPG science fiction trilogy for Microsoft. the same law that pertects a person and there $300 monthly car payment going up if there bank goes under and a third party has to come in on behalf of the bank, there are laws to pertect that persons $300 contract and the third party not being able to raise the monthly payments.
if Microsoft has a contract with Bioware for a Mass Effect trilogy there international laws that pretects them and there contract the same way.
