I think convergence is a good thing. Consolidating redundant items down to one or two parts is a very good idea.
However, I don't know why they chose to converge HDMI and Ethernet, as My HDMI cord goes from my Pc to my TV, and my TV doesn't need internet, nor will it in the future. :P
We'll miss you George.
