@ necromunda, you would have to have that in a PSP 2, because of compatibility with the old PPS for new games

Anyway, it is really growing on me, but there are a couple of things that I need to know
Firstly, will I have to take 2 PSPs with me on holiday if this does not take UMDs... what will I do with those
Secondly, will they sell codes in boxes or will they just go to online only?

Why would you have to wait for that functionality....

Could you not simply support the earlier games by just using the 1 stick over the 2?

And with shooting games and whatnot just support aiming with 2 sticks over 1... it really would be that hard to support that funtionality in a game... I mean it wouldnt take developers long AT ALL to create this option.

Its 100% perfectly easy to do and I still don't know why they are not doing it.

Although i don't think you are going to understand it, but the problem is that if they add another stick then the future games will start using two sticks. So this will make the existing PSPs user base useless. So in fact with a single stroke of ur "genius idea" Sony will manage to make its PSP base go from 50 million to 0 million. The developer will be in paradox whether to use two analog sticks for the game or just one and make the game playable for 50 million users or just less than 1 million. Sony will also alienate its existing user because some new games are not going to run on them and they will definitely be furious.

So sony has definitely done the right thing in my view.

To be fair (although I agree with you that they shouldn't put a second analog stick on until the PSP2), games could be made to use the second analog stick as an option, while falling back on single stick control on a UMD-PSP, similar to how most PS1 games could use either the DualShock or an original PS1 controller. OTOH, upgrading in that case just required buying a new controller, not a whole system.

In general though, I do agree that it wouldn't be entierly prudent to add a second analog stick on the PSP Go at this point in time.

Vol this is exactly what im talking about. Also you have to remember, 2 analog sticks is arguably one of the most if not the most wanted feature on the PSP, by current PSP owners and potential owners. And Noobie you have to be kidding me, in your point of view when SONY does, if ever, come out with PSP2 are you going to argue they are alienating all of their current PSP users ? Give me a break. The fact that Sony keeps revising the PSP so much in general is a Joke, they should scrap the Go imo and just make a PSP2 with the features the people want instead of pussyfooting around everything and releasing a new model every year.

why make such a radical change when they are definitely going to release PSP 2 in couple of yrs.. i think the better decission is add all these new features in new PSP.. rather than incrementally increase PSP
