For the people who enjoy reading Malstrom's articles (like me), they are usually pretty informative and this one here. But you guys who hate Malstrom, you hate him with some unusual passion. If you don't like him, why read his articles? It is like listening to Pachter for logical predictions--- you know you aren't going to like what you hear.
The manner in which you guys criticize him makes you no better than him. In fact, it makes you guys worse.
The GC and N64 were hardcore-centric and failed commercially compared to the PS brand. Nintendo switched to Southpaw and reaped the benefits.
Face facts. Hardcore now means blood, guns, and high-graphics, with the "best" games having 2 out of 3, or all of them. People who wanted new experiences bought a Wii, so all the casual-bashing can end right now. If the PS2 was so Hardcore, everyone who got that would've bought a PS3., but as you can see, that is not the case.
Dozens of Wii games are in the works that address these hardcore tastes, but without high-end graphics, most of these hardly-core wouldn't play them anyways, so there is no point in them concerning themselves with the Wii at all. So while the Wii abandons the hardcore, people in reality will be having fun playing it.
