Although the 360 is still fantastic without using live I do think you are losing out on LOADS by not using it, I always use xbox live, always chatting to people, playing friends online, it makes the 360 complete and is how "it is meant to be" enjoyed without limits, and without live on your console your dashboard looks VERY boring and bland as nothing is displayed, even the "play game on disc" pictures don't show unless your signed into live, plus no news, no features, no anything,
There's only so many times you can play a game offline, online makes games last much much longer usually, cod4, gears2, halo wars, all those games would be covered in dust by now if it wasn't for the online features!
