Thats part of his appeal. Is it a he, she...cyborg, robot...we dont know. But do characters in other FPS games really have that much texture?Atleast he didn't go around yelling pro American chants or was looking for his lost wife...

Oh for god sake people stop this Master Chief could be a chick garbage. You can clearly see John 117 (not Jennifer 117) has a skeleton after he falls from orbit in the opening of Halo 3. He's a genetically enhanced human in a suit of armor. He's got a huge backstory.
