Yeah that would make sense. They need a "Model" for the PS3 like Gears was for the 360... since the Unreal engine on early PS3 games was really unworkable or so it seemed.

Anyone who had a multiplat UE game seemed to have delays on the PS3 version... and the final product just wasn't as nice.
