This is why I like Obama. Not beating around the bush (no pun intended), he is clearly making the appropriate stands that even Israeli supporters can not really argue against. Settlements need to be 100% halted and removed if illegal outposts in order for peace to actually be negotiated. Israel cannot expect peace and negotiations while they keep stealing land, it just doesn't work.

I hope Obama comes back with more of a tone that links full adherence w/ US funding. :) Israel needs US a lot more than US needs Israel.

1. They are not stealing anything, free Palestine is artificial creation made by whoever digged up Arafat from his hiding hole. AFAIK this idea have been created long after Israel become country.

2. You are also wrong about US not needing Israel. Israel is huge buffor against all the terroristic movements from this area, and also great help to keep arabs in the region under control. If it weren't for them those bombs from Tel-Aviw would be exploading on streets of US and EU cities.

3. IMHO Obama is stupid if he belives situation there can be solved by peace talks when both sides don't want it.

4. Giving East Jerusalem to Palestinians would be disaster and would just create one huge battlefield.

5. The only long term solution would be coexistance of both nations in a single country considering how much of places there shares history for Jews and Arabs (and Christians for that matter too but at least they are not trying to bomb other sides to oblivion) but before that happens radical arab groups must be crushed.
