Well, Im sure Squill understands Im playing with him. Im very well aware of how nice NZ are to Maories (in my own controversial opinion they are too nice and digging their own grave). But still, formally, the white New Zeelanders could be seen as invaders, even if they are very nice and regretful invaders nowadays. ^^

Then you hopefully see as well, how ridiculous your opinion is in this case, when you compare a country with more then twice the square kilometres as England (alone) with 1/10th of the population digging their own grave by accepting the Maori. Actually the case is even more ridiculous, as the invaders, lost a war against the Maori, which led to a peace proclamation and the Maori being full citizens of the english governed New Zealand.

But actually, I think the Middle-East-conflict is way to important to bring up a discussion about New Zealand, which is not really correlated with this topic. Let's bring it back to a point where no politics are: let's bring it back to the people. I've been in Israel three times, had some seminars taught by Jewish-Israelis and went to Israel in an exchange programme with Israeli-Arabs.

Imagine, your parents had a field of olive trees, imagine it was your family's since hundreds of years. Then suddenly after thousands of years other people come there and claim it's actually theirs. They Build a road between you and your next town and tell you, that the olive trees are a no-go-area. How would you react? I would assume, by all the posts you made here, that you would want to get back your territory by whatever means it would take. So that's the Arab part.

Then there's the Jewish part. Your folks have been persecuted for hundreds of years and then there's the chance, after the worst thing that ever happened to any folk on this planet, that you get your original homeland back. Hell yeah you would go for it as well.

The problem which now appears is, that if you want to live your children in a non-hostile environment you got to find compromise solutions. And one option for that is definitely not to build new settlements, who create new anger.

What superchunk made perfectly clear in his post are the extreme positions, and in my opinion he was dead on with this.
