No. Rather, a "true" fan would acknowledge the overly convoluted and unneccesary exposition that made up a large portion of the second and fourth installments. The first and third games represent the pinacle of Kojima's work (At least in regards to the Metal Gear franchise), and I don't see how recognizing that makes me any less of a fan.

Why isn't it related? Just because you didn't play as "Snake" in "Metal Gear Solid 2", or because "Snake" should be immortal and not age. according to your logic, the "Final Fantasy" series should be burned to ashes and pissed on.
