This is, of course, because anyone who has ever signed up for the game and thought, "Eh, I'll give it a shot I guess, it's free" can be counted as a subscriber. Forever. Club Penguin has tens of millions of "subscribers," for example.

I haven't played this game, so I can't say whether it's good or not. I'm just making sure people have this in perspective -- 2 million for a free-to-play is a very different animal than 12 million paying subscribers, both statistically and economically.

Yeah, but I'd say that considering how it hasn't even been a month since the game was released that there's still a significant amount of players actually playing the game. It's a pretty impressive achievement for such a short amout of time, I think. There is at least one account that's inactive though. I gave up on it because the controls were bothering me for some reason. I'll wait for the PS3 version to see if I want to keep playing or not.
