@The one above me: 500/550 can also be true. Don't remember. Was a long time since i looked into that stuff. Anyway, the difference in memory is simply that the PS3 has it split and the X360 i one chunk for the whole system.

Plus,MS offers a second development kit that gives games more RAM for true AAA games from AAA developers. What did Sony do? Drop the price of it`s development kits from 12 000$ to 2000 $.

sony offers the phyre engine with works great with RSX and the cell and lets the cell offload work from the gpu.

and works great with multi cpu processors  and it's multiplatform.

and sony firmwares update are being updated so the OS uses less ram.
