While my 360 died once of RRoD I sent it in and it has been fine ever since (another 1.5 years after the RRoD). However, if it dies again, I will get it repaired and then purchase a new 360 Arcade model. That way I can use HDMI and not have to worry about RRoD, and get a new 3 year warranty on it just in case.
