Interesting apparently the universe is properly meshed. With references to the illusive man which is a novel character so far as I know. Though it is powerful fodder for another installment. He is the definition of a ruthless villain. Plus Cerberus in the novels is far more insidious then it was in the first game. In the novels it isn't just a renegade military organization it also functions a lot like a terrorist cell.
So for the next game we might finally see Cerberus as more then a bunch of loons in an outpost. We might actually see their covert operatives, and we might even have to suss them out to unlock side quests. In the novels the operatives can be anyone from a caring parent to a lab technician. Imagine having to unmask a traitor in your crew. That would really make those dialogues shine.
