My PS3 sometimes stops reading BlueTooth devices, why?

Turn on your PS3 and then just hold the power button until it beeps at you three times.  It usually takes me a few tries to do it on purpose so just keep turning it on and off by just keeping your finger on the power toggle and it will eventually beep at you three times.  I'm sure I'm missing something and that's why it takes me a while, but that will eventually work.  :-p
