Actually, I believe that this time it really is more important. By winning E3 you win over the core gamer and, Nintendo will soon start feeling the need to get more core gamers to buy a Wii, because as the months go by the casual market will get more and more bored with it. I'm not saying that the Wii is a fad, it is PROVEN that it is not, I'm just saying that the casual market is like that, they find something they like, buy it like crazy and then get over it an go for the new trendy thing. How does a company like Apple overcome this problem? New models every year, new functionality, etc. Nintendo can't release a new Wii every year, and while games like Wii Sports Resort definitely help, they just can't depend on casuals to drive their monstrous sales through out the rest of the console's life cycle. If Nintendo can keep the casuals mildly entertained, and make the core gamer return to them, then they'll sell even more consoles, and even more games, and I´m pretty sure they'd like that.
