7.8? That's really low. In my opinion before the reviews, my prediction from IGN was a 8.7. Graphics aren't really a major part of gaming, it's basically the gameplay. Gameplay, story and the soundtrack are the major points I'm interested in games, also replay value.
I agree with you on the box art part :P. I can imagine a lot of kids buying it just because of the box art.
