What? You mean powerful people taking your money, only to give it to other powerful people with the promise to help the little guy didn't work?
The only way it could not work, is corruption, bureaucracy, greed, and human nature. Once we remove those things from the government, these kinds of ideas will start working.
We had a great depression in 1921, and in 1929. The government stimulated nothing on 1921, and everything in 1929. No one remembers the 1921 depression because it was over so fast. the 29 one lasted 10 years.
