Piracy is theft.  Any common thief deserves to be behind bars.

Some people would think that maybe it's a bit of an extreme opinion but i'm in total agreement. So many people today have zero appreciation for the years of hard work that go into creating our various entertainment of choice. The false sense of entitlement these people have is a cancer to so many industries.
