Well your post if very well thought out and doesn't allow you personal beliefs to affect your position on confrontational issues.
I agree with many of your ideas, but I honestly have only made it half way through your post. I am going to finish reading and may get back to posting after the weekend.
Of course without finishing reading, one of the only issues a believe in strongly enough to be outspoken about is civil rights.
