You have full customization of your combos. You don't use the same ones throughout the game.

I pointed them out because you can create your own character in both games.

And in Demon's Souls, your actions had direct influence on the world. (Look at world tendency and player tendency)

And lastly, you choose must have meant character creation rather than character development. In WRPG, the story and character development always takes the backseat. JRPGs put the story to the forefront. There isn't anything wrong with either, it's entirely subjective.

 Thats not true. In WRPG's characters develop throughout the story into great heroes. In JRPG's it is already assumed they are great heroes and thats why you are playing as them. With WRPG's you make the story, in JRPG's the you're just following a linear string. I saw the Combos in White knight chronicles and they were extremely redundant. I grew bored seeing the same character juggling his opponent in the air; However, I liked the shield block and strike technique. The combos were boring, so eventually I turned it off. The knight still looks pretty cool though. It's good that JRPG's are becoming more like WRPG's though, because they weren't RPG's before.

They develop into great heroes and JRPG character stay the same throughout. Ok, bud, what JRPGs have you played?

You are playing off of an omnious stereotype. There is far more character development in Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia together than in Fallout, Oblivion, Mass Effect, and Fable II combined.

To italicized: Again another stereotype. But in reality, other than a few different dialogues and a different ending (which JRPGs have been doing for years) you don't make the story. The closest thing I've come to in WRPGs where your choices actually affect anything is in Fable II where you paid money to develop Westcliff. Even then, it didn't effect the story in any way, just was a nice add-on.

Stop confusing JRPG's with WRPG's. WPRG's create heroes or villians by your choices which have consequences. The only character development you see in JRPG's is involved in clips or scenes which are on a linear storyline. You are not involved in it!...if you are...JRPG's are starting to lose what made them big and are becoming more like WRPG's. JRPG's do not give you choice besides for controlling your inventory. Any form of choice beyond that is being ripped from WRPG's.

If you get choice in cusomizing the main protagonist in any way shape or form and affecting the world around you in the way yo see fit, the game is becoming like a WRPG. You are developing the character into what you want it to become. Your choices develop characters...if you have no choice...how the hell do you develop a character!? Your choices in life influence your public perception! JRPG's dont do that!

So Final Fantasy was ripping off of the non existent WRPGs when it allowed you to choose your party deciding upon who and what you would become? That was 1987.

Again, you're playing off of stereotypes. JRPG is a RPG from Japan, nothing more. Nothing less.
