Halo 3 is my game of this geneneration thus far. And only game this gen that goes in to my top 10 games I've ever played. Its one of the few HD console games that made sure group play and high fun factor are always present...and not really put much emphasis on things like draw distance, polygon counts in models and amazing textrures...sacrificing goodies like split screen and coop.

I have not played killzone 2 much but from what Ive seen and played, it will never have the charisma, universal appeal and sheer fun factor Halo 3 does.

Don't get me wrong, Killzone 2 is one bad ass shooter...but it is more comparable to COD4 than halo 3. There is nothing else like Halo 3 available this gen IMO...other than maybe L4D which is similarly unique in its own way.

Now as far as sales, I dont think higher selling games always represent better quality games...but in this case, I agree with this logic.

you contradict yourself mate.

As far as I'm concerned kz2>>cod4>>>>>>halo 3. This isn't fanboyism. It took me 12 months to play cod4 online for 14 days. I've already played kz2 online for 13 days. KZ2's clan system is just excellent!

As for halo 3, I tried and tried to enjoy both halo 1,2 and 3 (I had and xbox and I live in the US, you can be sure that I have access to multiple 360s) but just never got the appeal of the series.

I went back to play cod4 recently and it just didn't feel as good anymore...hopefully MW2 has an ace up its sleeve.

Frankly, a smaller community has it's benefits. Those of us who played lots of sc4 online had that kind of bond. I'm starting to see recurring PSN in KZ2, we'll see how it plays out.

While obviously there are different tastes for gamers...including FPS types...one really cant deny Halo 3 has way more variety than any other non PC FPS game.

To me group play is everything. I play it with freinds on a daily basis and we have so many possibilities that it takes us 2 months to play everything and after that the stuff we played earlier is fresh again.

One week we will say "lets hunt for skulls and play on legendary"...after that we will do double XP weekend games...then we will be in to MLG rules and games for a week or 2 (one shot kills)...then back to regular games...then when we are bored of matchmaking we will do some forge and make our own maps and have crazy 8 freinds death matches (i find these most fun lately)...and then new maps come from bungie and its back to regular games and new forge maps ideas. The cycle is endless...

This halo 3 cycle has not stopped for a year and 8 months now...and looks to keep going with ODST and new maps.

Well, if one doesn't enjoy the gameplay, nothing else matters. I have to say that the clan system in kz2 feels like an addictive sport...thats one of the huge pluses in the game.

I won't be stupid enough to say halo 3 isn't a great game. It probably is and it has done extremely well on the sales charts. However, that doesn't make it the best fps game in everyone's eyes because as you have acknowleged, tastes differ. Hell, one of my friends thinks Battlefield : Bad Company is the best fps and many would disagree too but it's what he has fun playing which is what matters.
