and Rei won the stupid-post-of-the-day-award for the whole week today.

Just like you've won the most-stupid-nickname-of-the-forever award when you registered here?

Let's make a bet if you are such a smartass, if both games are released in 2009 (FFXIII in japan only) - XIII will sell more for the year.

It's obvious that the Japanese will not go gaga over a WRPG. One can only hope that they notice the quality and buy it. I will not be counting on the gaming beating FFXIII in Japan.

True, that. Japanese have a good taste in games, they wont appreciate a game like ME. Still, it's ME2 releasing on PS3/360 in two regions vs. FFXIII releasing on PS3 only in one region. So I figured that would make a fair bet.

Edit: sorry Munkeh and other normal people in here for my hate on the game, I usually dont enter the threads about games I dont like. It's just that selnor's fanboyism and hate comments on Final Fantay pisses me off.

It's not because of "good taste" why the Japanese wont buy Mass Effect. Mass Effect, despite it's technical issues was an amazing game. First of all, Mass Effect is on the 360, and the only WRPG Asians actually support is WOW.  ME2 is not being released on the PS3 at all; it's only the 360 for consoles. FFXIII is releasing for PS3 in many regions, but exclusively in Japan, because of low 360 sales in Japan due to their nationalism. Mass Effect 2 will be leaps and bounds ahead of FFXIII in terms of quality, storyline and actual use. Mass Effect deserves to be hyped. Do you know how many people were left wanting more after they beat the first game? It's confirmed be one of the most anticipated games at E3.

Nice little crystal ball you've got there. I've got one too, yet it shows something different: Mass Effect 2 is going to be as far from FFXIII in terms of quality as Shellshock 2 is from Call of Duty 4.

Regarding how many people want what - have you made a research or have you just made that claim up on the spot? Because I actually have got a research - http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=23405 And surprisingly, it appears that 360 audience wants FFXIII far more than a sequel to ME.
