Well this SDXC is coming out at about the right time based on exponetial rate that the SD design has been doing. I do agree that many especially firm supporters of HD Disc technology would prefer to deny this as a fact.
Is this the future of our games. That's a resounding yes. The real question is comes down to time though. That will depend on the next generation release. If as many are saying that this generation will be the longest. Then there is a good chance that the SDHC 32gb will be the base design. The SDHC for future games offers so much oppertunity by the next generation. A Write Once Read Many SDHC will be cheaper to produce than a HD disc. There are no moving parts in the device and over all cheaper to add to the machine.
If the generation comes on the normal time. Then we can expect one more disc based gen.
