I believe in Natural selection because its been proven. Its fact.

I do not believe in evolution and the so called "origin of life" because they are theories.

I am Christian, so yes, I do believe we were created by God.

All right I admit that you made me scratch my head on this one. If you believe in natural selection changing the shape and behaviors of future generations, you believe in evolution! That is what evolution is. Evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life.

Hell, what's wrong with being a Christian and buying into evolutionary theory whole-hog?

It is not possible for someone who believes in the Christian God to believe in evolution. Let me explain. Jesus says in the new testament that everything from Genesis should be taken literally, and is not a made up story, so if you say you are a christian but believe in evolution, that is like saying you are a christian, but not believing in what jesus says; which defeats the purpose of ever being a christian in the first place

Yes, it's possible.  Somebody in this thread already does so, and I've met other Christians who believe evolution as well.  You should accept that it's possible, because your only other option now is to turn this into a "my Christianity is purer than your Christianity" pissing contest.

What thanny is trying to say is that Christians shouldn't believe in evolution. It's like when the Bible says not to lust, but every man does anyway. It's what Christians should be, not what they are, if that makes sense to you.

Khuutra, i agree i've never heard a verse that says take the Torah literally.
