Sony is facing another lawsuit over the force feedback technology in its Dual Shock controller

The lawsuit concerns engineer and patent holder Craig Thorner, who claims he was tricked into signing away his force feedback patent rights for a fraction of their worth by lawyers representing Sony and peripheral manufacturer Performance Designed Products (PDP).

Apparently Sony used Thorner's patents in the court battle against Immersion, which saw Sony paying out USD 90 million in damages over unpaid royalties concerning the use of rumble technology in the Dual Shock controller.

“Thorner claims that Sony and PDP were working together to get a favourable deal for his patents”
