Safe?  No hardware is safe from failure

 I am clearly talking about the YLOD. I know that all hardwares will eventually break.

 

Wait  another year or so and ask that question again.  the 40gb/80gb has not been out as long as the 60gb

Launch systems are always the faulty ones. From my experiences the 40 and 80GB consoles run far smoother.

I think the bottom line of this thread is that PS3s aren't as 'un-breakable' as people think, but its nowhere near RROD level and I wouldnt even say its on the scale of E74 either
