Well you can't really blame Sony for being a little bitter.

They love their physical, disc-based media, and had a huge stake in the music industry which has taken a tumble. Movies and games get pirated. In a lot of ways I think Sony does wish that they could turn the clock back the 1990s.

To be honest, I sometimes do think the world would be better off without the internet. Mass explosion of porn (not that I'm a prude, but I do sometimes shudder at what 8 or 9 year old kids might be viewing on the internet), rise of insipid gossip sites like TMZ, spread of virus' that attack your computer, internet addiction, death of newspapers, etc. etc. etc.

Way to focus on a few of the negative aspects of the Internet, while ignoring the massive benefits it has given us. Benefits like:

- time/energy/money efficiency for businesses and individuals alike.
- accessibility for impaired demographics.
- better spread of knowledge (a quick google search is often equivalent to or better than a lengthy session at a library with the help of an expert librarian; it may give more updated information as well).

PS: Death of newspapers = good. Think of all the trees being saved by not reading news on dirtied dead trees (aka newspapers).
