Microsoft will probably win next gen and Western console development will be considered to be in its Golden Age much as Hollywood's Golden Age was considered to come with the rise of studios like Universal and MGM in the 30's and the death of European silent cinema.

So you wish the Japanese gaming industry to be brought to the ground? After they pretty much saved the inudstry and still contribute a shit load?

 

      I just think its probably what will happen next time out.  A weak Nintendo console (or one that is only more powerful than the current 360 than the Wii is the original xbox).  A Microsoft console capable of running Crysis 2 fairly well (as well as the 360 can run Bioshock and Fallout 3) at a price more affordable than most pcs.  And full support from Western developers.  I see Japanese gaming becoming a niche genre in the West anyway.
